Banana Republic and Monkey Courts

India is projected as the largest democracy in the world because of ever increasing population of the country, But how good is the democratic system? Looking closely you will find that Indian democracy is sham and a lie. Corrupt politicians, arrogant civil servants, terrorizing police, and demoralized minorities make of the nation. The Indian judicial system consists of monkey judges who pass judgement under order from their political masters.

Indian Judiciary System - a mockery of justice
Here are some of the reasons why Sikhs feel betrayed by Indian constitution, political, judicial, and economic system:

1. Eversince independence, Delhi governments have systematically discriminated against Punjab state and favored neighboring state Haryana. Lack of investment have set the economy of state from 1st to 13th position. Why? Is it because Punjab has been ruled by non-Congress party or is it blatant discrimination?

2. During British Raj, the Sikhs represented 35% of army personnel. After independence, this was systematically reduced to less than 8% in 2012. Systematical dismantling of Sikh regiments into Rashtrya Rifles and selection of soldiers based on a quota system has closed door on Sikh youths. Why just break up Sikh regiments and not Rajput, Jat, and Bihar regiments?
Proud tradition of Sikh Regiment in the past  - Now Rashtriya Rifle with mixed recruitment
3. Diversion of state water to neighboring state, discriminatory distribution of electricity, delayed purchase of crops from the state, and importing wheat from outside has the Punjab farmers in dire situation. Riparian rights are the right of the owner of the land forming the bank of a river or stream to use water from the waterway for use on the land, such as for drinking water or irrigation. International Environmental Law upholds the underlying principle of riparian rights, which is when a river flows entirely within the territory of a state; its use depends on that state. But not so in the banana republic of India. Punjab state is allocated less than 25 % of the waters from its own rivers! (see table below) The remainder is being diverted to the states of Haryana and Rajasthan through the Bikaner, Sirhind, and Bhakra Main Line Canals. This is despite the fact that both these states are non-riparian states to the above rivers. Why?

4. Operation Bluestar was launched in June 1984 to attack Golden Temple and kill thousands of Sikhs. This was followed by killing of thousands of Sikh youths in fake encounters in rural area. Why didn't  the government take military action in other disputes in India, for example in Assam, or against armed Maoist naxals?

5. The ruling Congress party masterminded the genocide of Sikhs in Delhi after assassination of Indira Gandhi in October 1984. Over 3000 Sikhs were burned alive and their properties destroyed by armed gangs instigated by Congress leaders. The pattern was repeated in other Congress ruled states in Northern India. Few years later her son Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by Tamil Tigers for his involvement in the massacre of Tamils in Srilanka. Why was there no public violence against Tamils after Rajiv killing?

6. Sham of inquiries, reports, and court dramas have been enacted by the Congress party to protect its leaders from getting any punishment for their role in genocide of Sikhs in 1984. The victims of Sikh Genocide still wait for justice after 29 years. Why no one has been punished? Are these Sikhs not citizens of the country and deserve equal rights and justice?

7. The government did not waste time and set up expedited courts to sentence Satwant Singh, Indira's assassin, They could not hang the other assassin Beant Singh as he had died during assassination. So the Indians hanged his uncle Kehar Singh instead. Similarly Jinda and Sukha were tried in special courts held inside Nagpur jail and sentenced to death for killing the Congress politicians and General Vaidya for their role in genocide. But the justice is delayed (denied) to prosecute the Congress leaders responsible for Sikh genocide.

8. Indian government wants to hang Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar and Balwant Singh Rajoana despite lack of evidence. But Ravindra Kumar Pal, aka Dara Singh, a Hindu murderer accused of killing Christian missionary Graham Staines and his children was acquitted by the court. Recently Indian Supreme Court rejected clemency plea of Prof. Bhullar after he has already served 18 years in jail but a month later commuted death sentence of MN Das, a Hindu convicted of double murder.

Execution of MN Das commuted for delay in justice - Bhullar's plea rejected
In conclusion, Sikhs are never going to get justice in this banana republic where people feed stray monkeys with bananas. After 500 years of stellar contributions to the culture, equality, and liberty in India, today Sikhs are on crossroads where they need to decide if India indeed is their country or NOT.

Lost Cities of Punjab - Ancestral Home of Punjabi Communities

Punjabi Ignorance We, the Punjabis historically have not been documenting our own history. The Muslim Punjabis have almost forgotten their genetic ancestry and now try to connect their gene pool to the Arab aristocracy of Sayeds and Qureshis. The Pakistan government ignorantly names its missiles after the Islamic invaders who dispossessed their ancestors from their land. The Hindu Punjabis have written off their own ancestors, warriors kings, and Gurus and relate more to the Middle-India heroes such as Rama, Krishna, and Shivaji, The Sikhs have done a better job in staying connected to their roots but their historical reach is limited just to the Sikh period. Punjab history has to be taken as a whole, and that includes, Adivasis, Indus valley, Aryan Khatris, Kushans, Rajputs, Gujjars, Jatts, Islamic invaders, Sikh period, British rule, and the post independence era. Trinity of Punjabi Pride What's the Problem? So what? The results of this ignorance is astounding. We never

The Real Story of Heer Ranjha

We all are familiar with Waris Shah (Urdu: السيد وارث علي شاه النقوي الرضوي البهكري البدراني‎) , ਵਾਰਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਹ (Gurmukhi); 1722–1798) who was a Punjabi Sufi poet of Chishti order, renowned for his contribution to Punjabi literature by immortalizing the love story of Heer Ranjha .  His poetic verse is a treasure-trove of Punjabi phrases, idioms and sayings. His minute and realistic depiction of the details of Punjabi life and political situation in the 18th century, remains unique and the entire poem is an album of colorful and enchanting pictures of life in the Punjab, deeply absorbing. Abdur Rehman Chugtai painting of Heer and Ranjha Waris Shah was deeply learned in Sufi and domestic cultural lore. His depiction of story of romantic love is a poetic expression of the mystical love of the human soul towards God – the quintessential subject in Sufism and a recurring theme in both Sufi and Sikh mysticism. The Legend Heer is an extremely beautiful woman, born into a wealthy family

Reality of Khalistan

The Khalistan movement is a nationalist political liberation movement, which seeks to create a separate country called Khalistān (Punjabi: ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ, "The Land of the Pure") in the Punjab region of South Asia. But is this concept a reality or just figment of imagination? Imaginary Khalistan Map Background The Punjab region has been the traditional homeland for the Sikhs . Before its conquest by the British it was liberated by the Sikhs after centuries of rebellion against the oppressive Mughal rule. The region had been ruled by the Sikhs for almost 100 years. However, the region also has a substantial number of Hindus and Muslims. When the Muslim League demanded a separate country for Muslims via the Lahore Resolution of 1940, a section of Sikh leaders grew concerned that their community would be left without any homeland following the partition of India between the Hindus and the Muslims. They put forward the idea of Khalistan, envisaging it as a theocratic state cove
