Why I Say 'No' to Khalistan?

The term " Khalistan " is in news again thanks to the biased activism of Indian news agencies, newspapers, SFJ, and YouTube channels. But does it have the support in the mainstream Sikh nation? Let me categorically state that I am fundamentally against this 'poorly named' and 'poorly defined' term. The Sikh Nation Why I reject Khalistan? I feel strongly that this term is poorly named and poorly defined and that's why it does not have support of the Sikh nation. Here are six reasons why I reject the concept of 'Khalistan': Reason 1: Is it a Religious Term? Ek Ongkar - Core Concept of Sikhism The term Khalistan does not align well with the Sikh spiritual beliefs. Sikhism is a universal path that reject boundaries in the name of caste, race, region, or religion. Guru Nanak traveled across the globe and gave the message of 'One God for All" to the entire humankind and not just to the Sikhs or Punjabis. In my opinion, the creation of new pol

Why Khalistanis are wrong on Article 370

I was embarrassed, anguished, and disgusted beyond belief; when I saw pictures of Khalistanis protesting alongside the Pakistani flag outside Indian consulates in London and San Francisco. What anguished me the most was the ignorance and lack of knowledge of history among these rabid protesters screaming on top of their lungs, displaying their uncontrollable rage in a ugly spectacle in front of the world. Khalistani Protesters and Pakistani Flag What was the Commotion About? These Khalistanis were protesting against the Indian government for abolishing Article 370 , a temporary constitution Amendment made in 1952 to award special status to Kashmiris. Kashmiri Flags in Sikh Protest on Referandum 2020 But why Sikhs were there?  Well, some Sikhs feel that what happened to Kashmir will happen to Punjab next. This assumption is the biggest folly and demonstrates the ignorance of the protesters. Here is why: Modi government abolished Artcle 370 that gave a special status to

Congrestani Con(g)piracy against Sikhs

Congrestani Con(g)piracy The relationship of Sikh community with the Congress Party has been estranged since the independence of India. It started with the false promises given by Congress leadership upon which Sikhs decided to join Indian Republic unconditionally. Subsequent betrayal of Congress by refusing to designate Punjabi as state language of Punjab, separation of Chandigarh from Punjab, and enrollment in Indian Army on the population based quota and not on merit resulted in a "showdown" during the 1980s. The Sikh rebellion turned to violence after 30 years on peaceful non-violent protest by Akalis failed to bring any results. Indira Gandhi of Congress responded by ordering Indian Army to attack Golden Temple Complex in June 1984 resulting in mass causalities on both sides including thousands of Sikh pilgrims stranded in the armed battle. This event changed the relationship forever and catapulted into assassination of Indira Gandhi. The Congress res

The city was named after the lake founded by the fourth Sikh Guru Ram Das in 1574 on the land bought by him for 700 rupees from the owners of the village of Tung. At that time, it was known as Guru Da Chakk . (Later, it came to be known as Chakk Ram Das ). Amritsar is home to the Harmandir Sahib (commonly known as the Golden Temple ), the spiritual and cultural centre for the Sikh religion. This important Sikh shrine attracts more visitors than the Taj Mahal with more than 100,000 visitors on weekdays alone and is the most popular destination in the whole of India. The temple complex also houses the Akaal Takht , the highest seat of earthly authority of the Khalsa, and SGPC , the committee responsible for the upkeep of Gurdwaras.
