Bhagat Namdev

A Maharashtrian Who made Punjab his Home Bhagat Namdev, also transliterated as Namdeo (1270 – 1350) was a Hindu poet-saint from Maharashtra, India who is venerated in Sikhism and his poetry is enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He was born into a low Shudra caste as shimpi (tailor) in the Marathi language and as chimba (calico-printer) in northern India. Shudra is the lowest-ranked of the four castes in Hinduism. Bhagat Namdev Poetry of Bhagat Namdev Sixty-one of his hymns in fact came to be included in Sikh Scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. These hymns or sabdas share the common characteristic of lauding the One Supreme God distinct from his earlier verse which carries traces of idolatry and saguna bhakti. Is Indian Media Biased?

Indian Newspapers With more than 70,000 newspapers and over 500 satellite channels in several languages, Indians are getting news rammed through their throats with a diversity of biases. Its media control extends from Times of India, Economic Times, Navbharat Times, Times Now, Munbai Mirror, Filmfare, Femina, and Radio Mirchi.  Political affiliation: BJP (Previously a

Its Gurgaon You Stupid!

Today, the Haryana government in India renamed the city of Gurgaon as "Gurugram". Gurgaon is a city in the Indian state of Haryana located to the south-west of the National Capital Territory of Delhi,(20 mi) and 167 mi southwest of Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab. Modern City of Gurgaon Should the City Names be Changed? Although I am in favor of naming of Indian towns to their native names form the names given by the invaders of the country - the Afghans, Mughals, British, and the Portuguese. Most of the current cities and town were created by these invaders who conquered India and established new cities named after them. Why should the Indian public face the embarrassment of remembering their conquerors, plunderers, destroyers and rapists of their cultural and religious heritage, and their dignity? Should Indians keep the names of the cities based on these villains in history - Aurangzeb who destroyed thousands of Hindu and Buddhist temples, and converted mill
