The bravery of Sikhs is known to us all and there are legends that we have heard from our grandparents, read in Sikh history, and documented by Indian Army. Even the British Army glorifies the brave Sikhs who fought the great wars of the world with professionalism. One such legend is Naib Subedar Bana Singh. This blog is my tribute to the brave Sikh soldier taking excerpts from previously published articles. Naib Subedar Bana Singh P.V.C. We will not forget you ... Sisters!

It has been torturous 32 years for the widows and children of those brutally killed in a mass genocide directed against the minority Sikh community in India's capital - Delhi. They wail for their men - husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, and grandsons asking for justice ,, so far denied systematically by the corrupt politicians, colluding police officers, and failed judiciary. A Widow of 1984 Sikh Genocide in Delhi We have also failed to wipe their tears and provide a lasting healing touch to these victims. I want to reiterate once again, that we will never ever forget the innocent victims who lost their lives in this organized crime, countless widows, orphans, and aging mothers who could not even cremate their family members with dignity. 1984 Sikh Genocide The 1984 genocide of Sikhs was a series of pogroms directed against Sikhs in India, b

The Hindu organizations in India claim that Rama was born at Ayodhya , an ancient city located in Faizabad district of UP. The " Rama Janma Bhumi " movement was started in 1980s by BJP leader LK Advani to liberate the birth place of Rama and destroy the Babri Masjid , a mosque allegedly built on t

Castes System and Sikhism

We all believe that Sikhs do not believe in caste-ism but reality is strikingly different. Majority of Sikhs these days use caste based family names and some even try to hide "Singh" and "Kaur" as middle names, and an increasing number of Sikhs drop them all together. Hindu or Sikh? These Sikhs who use Hindu caste names as their family names, are the Hindu or Sikhs? Are the Punjabi last names like Dhillon, Sahni, Sidhu, Matharu, Chhabra, Kapoor, or Saini demonstrate Sikh heritage or Hindu ancestry?  To understand this thought, you will have to learn the meaning of these family names and how these are related to Hindu caste system. Hindu Caste System The caste system in India is a system of social stratification which has ancient origins, The Hindu conception of the social order is that people are different, and different people will fit well into different aspects of society.  The duties or "Dharma" of these four castes are documented in sac
